Fire safety & fire risk assessments

emergency planning and compliance with fire safety legislation

Under the  Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 , a fire risk assessment is necessary in virtually all buildings in England and Wales, other than domestic dwellings, so that includes workplaces.

To carry out a fire risk assessment, the legislation requires a person to have the necessary competence (sufficient training and experience, knowledge) to do so. We can carry out this service for you, which will include:

– a site visit to carry out the assessment, and

– development of an Emergency Plan for your site

We can also deliver Fire Safety Awareness training and Fire Marshal training for your staff, in line with legislative requirements.

The  fire risk assessment will include the following particular aspects:

Fire loss history
Ignition and fuel sources
Fire prevention
Storage and handling of flammable liquids and gases
Housekeeping
Means of escape
Compartmentilisation
Flammability of linings
Emergency escape lighting
Fire safety signs and notices
Fire detection and fire alarm systems
Fire extinguishing systems and appliances
Smoke control systems
Facilities for use by the fire and rescue service
Arrangements for management of fire safety
Emergency procedures
Training and drills
Testing and maintenance
